Position Overview: 

Team Lead needs to be highly motivated and experienced Team Leader to oversee a dynamic group of Virtual Auto Body Estimators who specialize in writing collision estimates based on photographs. As the Team Leader, you will be responsible for ensuring your team’s performance, productivity, and adherence to Calibers quality standards. Your leadership will help drive operational consistency and foster an environment where virtual estimators thrive in providing accurate and timely auto body estimates. You will also serve as the primary point of contact for team members, offering guidance, feedback, and support as needed. 

 

Key Responsibilities: 

  • Lead, coach, and motivate a team of Virtual Auto Body Estimators. Provide ongoing support and feedback to ensure individual and team performance goals are achieved. 

  • Monitor the accuracy and quality of the collision estimates produced by the team. Ensure estimates are consistent with Calibers standards and industry best practices. 

  • Track and report on key performance metrics, including estimate turnaround time, accuracy, and productivity. Address performance issues proactively, providing coaching and training as necessary. 

  • Onboard and train new estimators. Provide continuous professional development opportunities for the team to enhance their skills and knowledge, particularly in using software for estimating and interpreting photos. 

  • Work closely with other departments to ensure a seamless workflow and timely resolution of any issues related to estimates. 

  • Identify and recommend improvements to the estimation process, tools, and technology used by the team. Implement best practices for efficiency and accuracy. 

  • Act as the first line of support for any challenges or questions that arise within the team. Resolve escalated issues and ensure the smooth running of day-to-day operations. 

  • Ensure that all estimates are compliant with company guidelines, industry regulations, and client requirements. Maintain up-to-date documentation on team processes and standards. 

 

Qualifications & Skills: 

  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in an auto body estimating or collision repair role, with at least 1 year in a leadership or supervisory position. 

  • Previous experience leading remote or virtual teams, particularly in the collision repair or automotive industry. 

  • Proficient in using estimating software CCC/Mitchell and familiar with virtual estimating tools and technologies. 

  • Strong leadership and people management skills, with the ability to motivate, mentor, and develop a remote team. 

  • Exceptional attention to detail, particularly when reviewing estimates, photos, and repair procedures. 

  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal. Able to clearly communicate expectations, provide constructive feedback, and address concerns effectively. 

  • Strong critical thinking and problem-solving abilities to handle complex estimation issues or discrepancies. 

  • Comfortable using a variety of digital tools and platforms such as Microsoft Teams  

  • Able to work independently and manage time effectively in a remote work environment.
