The transition from military service to civilian life can be a challenge. But Caliber is devoted to giving back to the men and women who have given so much to our country. Our Changing Lanes Career Skills Program (CSP) training gives you new skills for a purpose-filled career in the collision repair industry.

PROGRAM & TRAINING

Yes, tools are provided for all three phases of the program.

Yes, both hands on and a written exam.

Yes, you will need a laptop for the Blackboard portion of the training and for I-CAR Training & Certification Testing.

No, it is not required.

Yes, Caliber Academy is a state-of-the-art facility that mimics an actual Body Shop. Computerized measuring is taught in Phase III.

No, restoration repair is not taught.

Painting is not taught in the program.

Your experience will be beneficial for you and the instructor. For instance, it would be helpful in assisting the instructor with other classmates.

It is not encouraged. Live production vehicles are provided in training.

HIRING

You will receive it prior to graduation and the final phase of training.

The typical work days are Monday through Friday.

The training is aligned to hire upon successful completion. Like an intern, you are trained to be hired by the corporation.

Vacancies and center selections are done prior to the start date.

Yes, they will be assigned prior to your arrival.

Yes, Caliber is a military friendly organization. Most centers are closed on the weekends - allowing you to participate in your monthly drills.

First year - $42,000 Second year - $65,000 Third year - $80,000

The Service Member or unit must provide their transportation to the course.

They are only provided when available.

No, personal belongings of most service members are shipped by the Military.

You have to work with the company for at least two years.

Yes, we have a partnership with Fayetteville Technical Community College.

ENROLLMENT & ELIGIBILITY

Yes, it is open to active and reserve services.

Within 180 days of your service ending date - You can sign up as far out as possible, however your class date must be within 180 days of your service ending date.

You should be able to lift at least 50 pounds and stand for long periods, as well as frequent bending and kneeling.

Yes, the assessment will be issued by a program recruiter.

Yes, failure to maintain discipline and the Academy standards will result in removal from the program.

Yes, phase three of the program consists of live production (customer vehicles).

No, this program is design to train you while you are still on Active Duty.

As early as possible, even a year out, however, you cannot start a class until you are within 180 days of your service ending date.

Once you have met the requirements and pass the assessment, the Talent Acquisition/Recruiter will issue you the packet. Skills Bridge Coordinators can issue the packet as well.

Yes, you must have permission from your Battalion Commander or Field Grade Officer in your Chain of Command.

No, you do not need to take leave to attend.

Yes, if authorized by your Chain of Command.

According to the Career Skills program manager, you are only allowed to participate in one program.

Yes, the program is approved by IMCOM (Installation Management Command).

Military Chapters vary and your Chain of Command will make the ultimate decision to allow you to attend.
